Architecture Drawing Prize 2026 winners reflect the medium’s evolving nature

The winners of the 2026 Architecture Drawing Prize are in: 11 top entries were selected from 168 submissions for the awards’ ninth edition.

The annual competition, co-curated by Make Architects, Sir John Soane’s Museum, and the World Architecture Festival, recognizes everything from conceptual sketches to technical drawings and elaborate architectural perspectives. Reflecting how architectural drawing continues to evolve, particularly with the rise of AI tools and techniques, the awards evaluate entries as a whole rather than separating them into distinct categories.

Among this year’s recipients is a particularly poignant entry: Glasgow School of Art 2026, the Hand-Drawing Prize winner, by local architect Ross Cameron. His pencil drawing captures the layers of scaffolding surrounding Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s fire-damaged masterpiece, turning a temporary construction intervention into a meditation on permanence and loss.
